Bedford Trucks were built from 1939 to 1951 in Luton. Bedford was part of the American General Motors and developed a series of trucks and buses before the Second World War. Bedford produced many of these trucks for the British Army. Many of these trucks were left behind near Dunkirk in 1940. Despite the fact that the engines were disabled, many were refurbished by the Germans and used in the war.
